2008 part 2

The website has not been updated for some time due to other commitments

The new regulations have taken the advantage of our bubbles away and we are now having to work much harder to be competitive. The regulations were changed to avoid putting new teams off joining in the Greenpower competition and to slow things down as speeds were approaching 50 mph.

Charging during the race has also disappeared and races were shortened to 4 from 6 hours. This time saving has been used up by starting a new formula F24+ for over 16 year olds.

This changes have made the racing much closer now and you have to be at the top of your game if you want to stay at the front. Trinity School Racing have now taken the front placing with their very consistent and methodical approach to racing and are the one to watch and learn from. Sandbach have also now won the 2008 final and their hard work over the years is paying off. Seaford's Phoenix is retiring due to the 2009 rule changes not allowing the drivers head to be below the windscreen.

Turbo Tortoise is retiring at the end of 2008 due to the new car being designed for 2009. Removing the bubbles as we did has dramatically spoilt the aerodynamics of the cars and slowed them down as was required by the new regulations so we are seeking a new style of car to improve our competitiveness for next year.
