Portaprompt have been manufacturers of Broadcasting equipment since 1963 and will this year be exhibiting at NAB 2007 the lightest and brightest Portable Prompting equipment the market has to offer through innovative design, research and development. The company is actively seeking Agents/Dealers and Distributors in the USA, Canada, Mexico and all countries in South America for its award winning Teleprompting Products.
During 2006 Portaprompt’s innovative Nano-Prompter was the recipient of the 14th annual Prestigious Mario Award at last years NAB. Organised in 1993, the Mario Awards were established to recognise manufacturers whose products represent significant technical breakthroughs, many of these products have gone on to significantly impact the future of video technology. The awards are named after Mario Orazio, a pseudonym for a nameless engineer and a renowned technology columnist for TV Technology who pens the industry’s most widely read column “The Masked Engineer.” The awards are given out annually at the NAB convention to companies that demonstrate forward thinking and technical excellence in their products.
Two New features for NAB 2007 have been added to “The really Get up and Go Mario Award winning Nano Prompter” New features now available for the Nano Prompter, the ultimate in minimal prompting for hand held field use, include, a wireless networking feature to ENPS so enabling live updates from ENPS via MOS to the Nano Prompter completely free of any physical connection to the MOS server. Thus allowing the camera operator to roam freely in the knowledge that latest runorder and story updates are displayed to the presenter at all times. An improved wireless remote prompter variable speed hand control has also been developed. The small hand control fits easily in the hand and has multiple functions to enable the presenter to mover quickly around the scripts and runorder. The rotary prompter speed thumb wheel is easy and simple to use. The Nano Prompter uses the latest laptop wireless technology and through Portaprompt’s innovative design weighs only 1.8 kg. Using Portaprompt’s Windigi prompting software and rigging this simple to use and easy to carry prompter is ready for any location. Prepare or download the script onto the hi-spec laptop. Make any changes required. Set the camera up and attach the rigging arm to the camera. Attach the laptop to the rigging arm and start prompting, it’s as easy as that! No extra monitors hoods or cables or mirrors to break!
During 2007 and for NAB An improved MOS version of Portaprompt’s WinDigi prompting software was specifically written and designed to interface with ENPS’s Media Server Communications Protocol (MOS). This tight integration with WinDigi via the MOS protocol enables ENPS to control all the features of the WinDigi prompter automatically so improving the efficiency of the prompting function in a busy newsroom environment. Using the MOS Active X implementation WinDigi can remotely access any run-order, or start at any story in the run-order.
Launching this year at NAB 2007 the NEW Quasar range of ultra bright and ultra light TFT colour on camera teleprompter units in FOUR sizes 12”, 15”, 17” & 20” (up to 1600 Nits & 100-250volts AC 12VDC). Designed without a fan for silent running and suitable for Location, Studio and Virtual Studio use. Lightweight therefore ideal for robotic head mounting with an improved on-camera tilt range. Automatic PAL/NTSC signal detection with auto-terminating BNC loop-through and VGA input. The flat panel displays have been engineered to obtain the very highest brightness and contrast. The displays are suitable for on-camera prompting units, conference glass stand units or direct reading monitors. The Quasar range ultra bright teleprompters are fitted with very high brightness backlights making them totally suitable for outside use. Turning down the brightness for indoor use reduces power consumption.
Sold across the Globe and Unique to Portaprompt the recently enhanced Fastpole Conference Display Stand, the fastest pole in the market place today. The pole can be preset for any height between 1ft 7” to maximum height of 8ft (with glass). Each hand control can control up to 16 poles. The fast pole reaches its pre –set height at around 2ft per second and will retract to its smallest height of around 1ft 6” at the same speed with the glass folding down flat automatically so easily retracting beneath most stages |
