Portaprompt the UK based boutique prompting company are pleased to announce the launch, at IBC 2018, of an upgrade to its Premium and Quasar displays range.

Based on the present line up and performance the new models offer increased connectivity for Broadcast, TV Production and Live Event / Conference applications with the addition of DVI and IP (CAT6) connectivity as standard as well as the existing SDI and Composite Video signals.

In addition a new, all metal, lightweight hood helps to get the on camera weight down as part of our overriding philosophy to make the lightest and brightest prompting rigs available

Miles Kingsbury, Portaprompt’s Chairman and Head of Design comments:-

“These monitors are the back bone of our rental business and are used every day. I have been looking to update them since we launched our IP workflow at IBC 2017 last year partly as an organic update to the range but also the hard fact that VGA connection is essentially old and irrelevant now!

The new displays take all the great day to day features that our operators need like a 1500 Nits panel (Quasar) and imbedded Tally Lamps and adds additional connectivity (DVI and IP) and reduces the overall on camera weight due to the new and even lighter weight all metal folding hood.”

The new range will be available as follows and prices will be announced at IBC with shipping due to commence in November 2018

  • Premium (4×3) 400 Nits plus in 12”, 15”, 17” sizes
  • Quasar (4×3) 1500 Nits in 12” 15”, 17” and 19” sizes
  • Quasar (16×9) 1500 Nits in 21” and 24” sizes
