Helen Kingsbury

Helen our MD has been in the family business for over 42 years starting as an operator in the late 70’s she has been MD of the company for 22 years since her parents retired.

She took a break from prompting in the mid 80’s working as a camera operator for Central in Nottingham on classic shows like Auf Wiedersehen Pet, Blockbusters and The Price is Right and so has experienced the pressures of live production from numerous perspectives!

Miles Kingsbury

Helen’s brother, the Designer and brains behind our kit. Miles studied mechanical engineering at Brunel and had several design roles with Thorn Lighting and Instron before joining the family business in 1987.

Away from the day to day prompting business Miles is a well know cyclist and bike designer and held the world land speed record for human powered vehicles (47 miles in an hour). He recently was the cycling design adviser on the Guy Martin Speed Series

Jim Keating

Jim is the Technical Director. He started his career with Melford Electronics working on their monitor range and joined Portaprompt in 1984. He is responsible for a significant number of our technology developments including the integration of our Windigi Software into ENPS News Systems, Robotic Conference Poles, IP Systems amongst others.

Jon Hilton

Jon is the “new boy” joining as the Sales and Marketing Manager in January 2014. Prior to this he worked for over 30 years with Sony Broadcast in a variety of sales, marketing and senior management roles initially in the UK and then across Europe.

Apparently according to a Linked in endorsement “What Jon doesn't know about broadcast vendor strategic, product and trade marketing is probably not worth exploring”!
